COVID-19 lockdown may be a great opportunity to develop your startup and get it to the global stage. As of now, there are even three competitions open, and their focuses are not overlapping.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

OPPORTUNITY #1<\/h2>\n\n

Social innovation category<\/a> of the 2nd Gastronomy Tourism Startup Competition<\/strong><\/a> is organized by UNWTO<\/a> in collaboration with the Basque Culinary Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Its mission is to catalyze innovations that can transform the Gastronomy Tourism sector<\/strong> in the near future. Within social innovation category, they are looking for initiatives that promote social transformation through gastronomic tourism.<\/p>\n\n

Deadline: May 30, 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

OPPORTUNITY #2<\/h2>\n

<\/h2>\n

The Financial Times<\/a> ja the International Finance Corporation<\/a> (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group<\/a>, have launched the 2020 edition of the FT\/IFC Transformational Business Awards<\/a><\/strong>, the leading global initiative that highlights and promotes ground-breaking, long-term private sector solutions to major development challenges.<\/p>\n

The core categories of the Transformational Business Awards are all directly related to global efforts to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals<\/a> (SDGs).<\/p>\n

Within this overall focus, special attention will be given to initiatives that address climate change, and\/or harness disruptive technologies and business models to increase impact and scale<\/strong>. Innovative financing solutions, including best practice in impact investing<\/strong>, will also be recognised.<\/p>\n

The Awards are open to all private sector organisations. Start-ups with innovative solutions and a clear roadmap to financial sustainability are encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n

Deadline: April 30, 2020.<\/p>\n

StartupsVsCovid19<\/a> <\/strong>is a competition organized by Startup Luxembourg<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Startups are invited to submit projects relating to the development of innovative, technological products or services intended to limit, or even overcome, the economic, health and societal effects of the crisis<\/strong> linked to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n\n

Proposals can be submitted from 20 April until 30 April 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n
